so i get this call from a guy that wants to know how to install his belltech leafsprings..... THAT HE BOUGHT FROM SUMMIT RACING. get a call from the same guy a week or so ago wanting to know what i thought about the parts he bought from another vendor. now i dont get into the competition thing.... if you want to buy from someone else fine. but PLEASE have enough courtesy and common sense not to call me on my day off and demand that i tell you how to install your parts that you bought somewhere else. i asked him why he didnt buy the springs from me, since i stock them. its a well known fact that i have my phone on 24/7 and will answer questions about any install issues you have about anything you buy from me. i consider it good customer service. dont abuse it. if you bought your stuff elsewhere, dont think that im required to help you. if this crap continues im not gonna keep my phone open to you guys. he got mad and started yelling at me on the phone.....said he thought we were friends, and that i had lost a customer for ever.

i dont have time for this bullshit.
please if you havnt taken your medication........ dont call me.
if you smoke crack frequently....dont call me.
if you have nothing better to do than act like your 10 years old on the phone..... dont call me.

so heres fair warning if you get a call from 443-417-5886 and Andrais wants to talk about buying some parts. LOOK OUT.

I know where you are coming from. We get that same type of thing in the AV business, people come in and waste hours of your time meeting with them, putting together system design proposals (which then become internet shopping lists) and all I end up with is unlimited acess to their voice mail. Eventually they will call in asking how to connect their equipment they bought from the internet or complaining when it doesn't work......grrrrrrr....

I get this ALL THE TIME. Had a guy keep me on the phone for 45 minutes the other day about gaskets/bearings/whatnot. I looked up everything (pn, price, availability on 10-15 different things), and the sob had the ballz to ask me if I thought Summit had this stuff any cheaper and would I call them for him. Pardon me? Are you joking? Nope? You have a nice day now. Ruined my day until I punched my cousin in the nutz.

BTW E.... I bought some plug wires off you last year and only ran them a few thousand miles but I need to return them for a refund. I found them cheaper at the local flea market.

I have some head gaskets from JEGS with no receipt. Only used once. Will you pay shipping and give me a refund?

How much did a set of springs save him over your cost <$10, he says you lost a customer, I don't see a customer... On somethings, no small parts shop can afford to goto head to head with Jegs and Summit Racing because of their pricing (I have heard on something their prices are below some vendors costs.)

Within reason, I prefer to fund SyTy vendors. When you buy from a Vendor, a you help them stay in business which indirectly some of that money probably goes into development of new SyTy parts. In large economic scale, saving a few dollars may create competition drive price down, but in small economic scale it hurts our community. SyTy in generally don't even have that many big ticket parts the average owner buys. Its typically upgrade is a chip/larger turbo setup (sometimes alky) We don't even have cat back exhaust to buy. Yes there is Walbro/AFPR/K&N/Tune up parts, but the profit margin on those items is very small. As evidence by the Timeslip page, I would guess there really isn't that many people doing all out builds either. Support your Vendor :2cents:

This never happens....I get calls and emails all the time..."Here's what I bought, what do you think?" I don't mind but then you find out he paid $3K for parts and they offer no support to put them in...and I end up supporting a product that someone else made money on..
Here's another one..."give me a list of every part you've found out works. I'm gonna save $3 buying them from someone else. Your gonna tell me how to put all them in and tell me exactly what I did wrong when it doesn't work...right?"
Sometimes I wonder where common sense goes.

I just prefer to buy from vendors for one and only one reason THEY KNOW OUR TRUCKS! I know that I can go down to a local shop and buy this x product for my truck BUT will it be the right one? probably not. I did this 4 times for a throttle body gasket. I have learned my lesson. I have only had one problem since buying from a vendor but it was mostly my fault. On my rebuild I did eagle rods and didnt know that I had to beat out the pan for clearance (Mike reminded me of my stupidity when i called but was quite nice about it.)

E-

Sad to hear but I am sure it is never good to put forth much effort in your own best interest trying to do the right thing only to get bitten in the end.

Just know that the majority of us here appreciate all of the SyTy vendors that are straight forward, no BS, always willing to offer help and dvice.
Keep your head up we should all have a good season ahead of us this summer.

I have my upper & lower intake and TB goin off to Turbotime for port and polish work this week.
big ups to E

Hey, I hope I dont fall under that category of being retarded...I called you on friday, it was about my highly anticipated chip...I rant sometimes unknowing to myself....my excuse is I am totally lost to the syty environment and find myself farming for info....Its great to have vendors out there looking out for our interests...I wouldnt jeopardize that for anything..
