tps #$%@

ok got a tps issue. Got a tci trans controller in the truck and you have to tap into a tps signal. No big deal right. Well I been having some problem setting my tps, iac and turns out with my tci controller tapped into the blue center wire of tps it cuts the signal voltage in half. It only goes to 2.55 volts at wot and idle is .41, so out of a what the hell moment I cut the wire I had tapped into it and got full voltage now, 5.00 at full throttle. what would yall recommend or have yall delt with this before? maybe I diode on the tci tps wire?

Call the guys at RPM. They do this install quite often and I know, would be more than willing to assist

Re: tps #$%@

Is there another tps signal coming out of pcm other than f13 dk blue wire that the tci might not screw with tps readings? Btw I used a diode in line of tci tps signal to see of it would work and same results, cut both tps and tci signal voltage in half when tci wiring is spliced into factory tps signal wiring. Any clues?

F13 is the correct terminal and there is not another one that you can use. I splice off of this with a 2nd GM ECM and use this to control my 80e. If you have everything hooked up and grounded properly I bet there is an internal issue with the TCI controller..

Re: tps #$%@

starting to wonder my self. this is a used universal tci trans kit. it did come off another sy but the cd install and instructions suck. no wiring diagram, just tells you to plug tps plug into some sort of splice adapter for the stock tps(same thing as splicing yourself but it plugs in). but there is no plug on the tci wiring, looks more like a universal kit so I can only find the signal wire for tps coming out of tci harness. if it had the plug on it there would be 2 wires but I cant find the second. guess I will call tci or rpm tomorrow and see how far I get.
