I have a list of items i plan on doing to my truck and one of the items on the list is a good tranny cooler.

please post up tranny cooler pictures and the information of the cooler. I also plan on doing a remote filter and get my tranny temp gauge hooked up. Any info on these items would be appreciated.....

Thanks

Hey Vinnie,

I don't think I have any pictures, but I did what most do and mounted a remote trans filter and tapped into that for a trans temp fitting. Currently it is located under the battery, but in the future I will relocate the battery to the bed and put the trans filter where the battery is. Maybe even do -AN lines and bypass the radiator, but haven't decided yet.

Hatrik thanks for those threads. The issue i have is that the threads are about 6 years old. Are the parts still all the same? Has anyone seen something that didnt work or maybe a better way.

My plans are to add a remote tranny filter with a temp gauge. If i do that what other AN adapters do i need. I just want to make one order and have all parts needed.

Are all tranny temp gauges hook up the same? I need to take mine out of the pod and see how it needs to be hooked up. I bought it used added to the pod and never took it out again.

Derale, comes with fan

i run a Nordskog digital trans temp gauge, with sending unit

then sending unit took a couple fittings to get it right.

Re: Tranny cooler pictures

has anyone ever mounted a trans cooler under the floor of there truck rather than in the front? I the reason I'm asking is I'm running auto x events, and I never really get going that fast, and a fan is going to be used on the cooler itself. I was thinking, rather than mounting it in front of the radiator and blocking it all the time with a transcooler that has a fan and shroud over half of it, could I mount it under the floor on the drivers side and have a couple inches between it and the floor for air movement...try to keep it up high enough so its not at risk for being hit with stuff, and away from anything hot...would this work?

i have mounted them also under the rear, but used oil coolers from a tractor without a fan.
