trans starts in 2nd gear? help!

BOOST LAUNCH KING
Crusin around today my trans decided to start acting up. From a dead stop it will start in 2nd or 3rd gear, cant tell witch one. I can manually shift it down into 1st and it works ok. I tried adjusting the tv cable but that didnt help. Once in a while it will start in 1st, but when it does it has a delayed up-shift. TC locks up still, reverse works, fluid is full and in ok cond. First problem I have had with my ty so please help me out.

sounds like the governer is sticking,its on the left side of the trns towards the back. under a cap that is a press fit, you can pry it off the governer just pulls out clean it out real good make sure the valve inside moves free , you can see it and move it with the weights. i had probs before with one and thats exactly what it does, these trucks have a unique governer you cant get a new one from gm, i tried several different ones that i thought would get it to shift about where the factory one did with no avail. anyway id try cleaning it , cheap first step.. also most trans guys are pretty good at freeing and cleaning them
