TunerPro RT Can't Detect AutoProm

Help, I can't seem to get TunerPro RT to detect AutoProm. Right now I just have the AutoProm connected to my laptop via a USB cable. In TunerPro RT under Tools->Preferences->ALDL/Emulation, I have the interface type set to AutoProm and the Target Sample Rate set to 10 Hz. When I clicked on the Auto-Detect Attached Hardware, I got the "Hardware Not Found" message. Any ideas?

BIN files don't affect connectivity.

Richard, make sure that your AutoProm is properly recognized in Windows. It should show up as a USB serial port in Device Manager. There you should also be able to set a COM port for the device. Try changing that to get a connection.

If nothing, make sure that the drivers are installed correctly.

Still nothing? Try plugging the AutoProm in before starting TP and let it try to recognize it while starting. Otherwise, wait until TP is loaded and then connect the AutoProm and manually recognize (as you probably have).

Lastly, if you still have no connection, pop the cover off the AutoProm and look for a yellow chip on the circuit board. Get the numbers off of it and e-mail Craig. There is a firmware update for some of the early AutoProms and yours (like mine) may need to be updated.

Yep, AutoProm is properly recognized in Windows as a USB serial port using COM port 4.

If nothing, make sure that the drivers are installed correctly.
Where do I get the drivers for it? The package didn't come with any sort of softwarel[/quote]

Tried this and still nothing.

OK. Let me try this. Is the cover easy to pop off? Any hints? Thanks.

Re: TunerPro RT Can't Detect AutoProm

OK, after reading through the Moates.net F.A.Q, installing the USB driver, and sliding the outer horizontal switch on the AutoProm toward the USB port, I got it to work. Now the fun begins. Thanks everyone.

Nah, what I meant was for the hardware to be simply recognized by TunerPro, it doesn't matter. You can get the AutoProm recognized without a bin or xdf file loaded at all.
