A local Typhoon member (Matt Gero, 1992 Ty #0021) asked me to post this for him. He just had a motor built from Campbell Automotive and Matt is going to install it into his 1992 Typhoon. I wish this was my motor...

His build is Stock block .30 over, lower block fill, splayed billet 4 bolt main caps, scat crank nitrated and cryoed, eagle h beam rods, diamond pistons, custom cam, fully race ported vortecs, ported upper and lower intake, Arp head main and rocker studs, Pte billet 6768, 120lb injectors (running e85),aeromotive eliminator sump kit. BS3 ECU.

I forget exactly what the low boost numbers were, but I want to say on the phone he told me around 500hp at 9psi.

looks awesome! Nolan told me he was testing this engine last week...good numbers. Hope to have my own updates by Wednesday...

Great results once again from Campbell's!

That post has bothered me for a long time. Since when is the surface hardness of a material an indicator of its strength? Most things that are super hard are also brittle. Think about it this way. Test the hardness of a stock piston and a aftermarket forged piston. I bet the forged one will come out softer than the stocker. Which one do you think will hold more power? Believe it or not these things need to flex a bit. Very hard brittle piece will just shatter into hundreds of pieces. Im by no means an expert. Just my 2 cents.

Believe what you want on the cranks about what people say......... we test them........

Just an update. Matt has taken couple trips to the track while he is tuning the truck for the street.

Last friday on 15psi, he ran a 11.745 @ 119.16mph w/1.854 60' (he sent me a pic of the time slip) He said was having problem launching the truck either it bogged (too little boost) or spun badly, he wasn't able to find the happy medium in the 5 runs he made.

This past Wednesday on 18psi, he ran only once and the track kicked him out for safety equipment (he has a roll bar but its not certified yet), He ran a 11.4 @ 121mph with 1.76 60'
