Typhoon rear axle size?

Can anyone tell me whether we have a 7.5" axle or a 8.5"...

I'm buying a new eaton posi unit but they need to know the axle size .

7 5/8" but they use the same posi units as a 7.5.

Yeah - I found that out after I called a fellow SyTy'er and he said 8 1/2 - went to the store for a punkin' gasket - their computer said 7 1/2 - I argued with him telling he was wrong and an idiot. Made them ship a 8 1/2 gasket over from another store. Got it home - wrong size. Needless to say I didn't go back and return it Luckily, pops had a 7 1/2 gasket in his toolbox.

What is the difference between 7 1/2 & 7 5/8 besides an 1/8th of an inch?

upgrade to the 8.5" it's an incredibly stronger unit.

2 Splines on the axle shafts and .125" diameter increase in the same axles.
