Re: What and where??? Front rear diff

I have a 8.5 rear 59" wms to wms from a non zr2. this is a bolt in rear that is much stronger than stock and very hard to find.

Freight shipping isnt cheap though....

What does wms to wms mean? How much u want? Include axles etc? Tires and rims fit same?

You cannot get the same gear ratio for the Ford rear to match front, problem for the transfer case.
A AWD S-truck can't plant enough weight or traction to need a very heavy 9" rear, it will only apply a percentage of torque to the rear.

Ford rear & dana 44 will require going to 3.08 or 3.73, ive been doing a lot of research on this lately

Yes wheel mounting surface, which means that it is the exact same size as our rear but is much stronger and will bolt right in. It is your choice, I have one with no axles but disc brakes and another with axles but drum brakes. Both are 3.42 gears with traction lock...

I was thinking 400 since they are so hard to find. The zr2 rears can be shortened but have 3.73 gears so no savings there...
