What others are doing as side work???

I always had some thoughts of having a side business to make that extra cash. The issueis that i cant decide what would be the best. I have established a LLC to start looking for real estate flips but cant really find anything without leaving me dry, which i cant do becasue i have a family and kids to support.

What are others doing or plans????

Very well known for my quality of work and quick turnaround. Lately, surfboards isnt the only fiberglass work either...cars, airplanes....

I fix home PCs for people - endless amount of work - all under the table.

I take in as much work as I feel like doing - money made goes primarily towards syty parts.

My father in law and I do outdoor catering on the side. I'm a banker by day, he was a journalist for the Charlotte Observer for 27 years. We smoke whole hogs, boston butts, we do shrimp gumbos, jambalaya, frogmore stews, catfish frys in 40 gallon cast iron cauldrons, etc. It started out as fun then by word of mouth grew. It's nice to have a side job where we can have fun, drink beer, and socialize with the hosts who are paying us. After the paper industry tanked he got laid off in Jan 09. I work on cars during the day and after hours and if you combine both incomes, I still dont make any money

I'm a mechanic & yard supervisor at an industrial auction yard from 8-5, install auto accessories & mechanic/body man under the table after hours. If I'm not doing any of that, I flip cars & trucks.

All of that has helped my syclone savings fund.

I do architectural drafting at night. I try to take as much work as they'll give me. Quick easy way to make cash without any real hard work. Was making as much as $600/wk there for awhile. It's not under the table, but it's still easy side work.

I do performance driving instruction and product launch stuff mostly at the manufacturer or dealer level
i do some network setup and admin for small office or home office stuff
painting and wall papering
moving damage to drywall etc
i do some simple cad drawing and fabrication for buddies for barter

funny i never seem to have much extra cash though lol

X2. The economy blows big time. Company orders have cut everyone to 35hrs or less per week. Its hard to have any positive income at that level, along with biweekly pay screwing us over.

We went through that last year. At the start of 2009, we were told we wouldn't be getting a 3% cost of living increase and very very shortly after, were told we had to take a 4% pay cut. So far, it looks like no cost of living increase again this year.... 10% in the hole in regards to inflation/cost of living increases? Good times. :tdown:

I do Freelance Graphic Design on the side, but with two kids now, I've had to drastically cut back on the amount of work I can take on/produce. On top of that, design/advertising is among the first things cut in a bad economy and among the last reinstated when things get better.

Anyone want to buy our house? That will really help us out. :tup: :lol:

ups guy by day.....and for a side gig, my wife pays me to leave her alone. she says its worth the money.
