What to do on exhaust system

On the Sy I picked up. I am down to the exhaust system.

I will need everything from the downpipe back. I am going up to 2 1/2" from the downpipe back. Will probably buy a magnaflow cat and muffler. Just not sure of the part numbers I will get. I do want the truck to be quiet under normal driving conditions. Any suggestions?

The other thing is exhaust pipe. I was wanting to pick up some 2 1/2" stainless steel tube. But I am going to have to make sure the muffler shop will let me bring my own parts.

None of the hangers came with the truck. It does have what I am guessing what the hangers attach to on the body. No attachment at the crossmember was included.

Just looking for a few ideas.

If you want quiet, I would look into a different muffler.

If I continue to have inspection issues in MA (due to strict exhuast noise laws), I was thinking about using dynomax quiet flow muffler. On my truck I have RPM 3" catback along with a 3" DP and a 3" high flow bullet cat. It is not quiet. I ended up using a 30" magnaflow muffler to quiet the truck down. It still is prettty loud.

I love my Dynomax muffler, its the turboxs one. Get one of those and a Catco cat and be good to go.

Tom is a great guy and I buy parts from him. He has always been great to work with.

But I will be needing a exhaust system very soon. So I will have to pick something up before Tom has his exhaust project completed.

Both of my Typhoons have Magnaflow cats and mufflers. They are not bad just a little louder than I want for longer drives. And I plan on driving the Sy all the time. I think I may try the longest magnaflow or Dynomax I can find. That may be quite enough. Is the Dynomax a straight through muffler? I don't want anything that has any baffles at all.

Re: What to do on exhaust system

I just measured mine and it's 2.5" from the mufflers all the way out.
It's run exactly like factory so I'm assuming that's the diameter on original Sy's?

I love the way mine sounds.

I use a Borla Pro XS muffler 40348(weld-on style), if you want the notched style to use exhaust clamps it's 400485

I don't think it's loud at all, to be honest I was a little disappointed at first, but then grew to like it cause it doesn't have that real deep drone sound, it's 2.5" center inlet and dual 2.5" outlets and has the Y already built inside the muffler(straight through design, no baffles) if you plan on keeping the stock style dual exhaust which is what I wanted. The previous owner had installed 2 flowmaster canisters and they were a lot louder and a big no-no for turbo cars which I'm sure you know. I paid $99 through summit, although they retail for $150

I run 3" from the stock downpipe back, no muffler or cat. It's not as loud as the dual system with a cat.
