Trying to decide on Bel Tech, or going coil overs/4 link etc... Open to suggestions.

Hi Daron,

Shame about the spring failure -- I was considering a set of those.

I installed a set of Belltech monoleafs on a s10 blazer I had before the Typhoon.
3" drop, lighter than stock and performed really well
The current trend does seem to be coils and links though.

Ruth has sent Barb a few emails lateley but our internet/email connection has been a bit patchy - the ISP is doing maintenance.

Re: when good springs go bad...

You got your old sy springs right? If not Crazy Kaese has a set of bell techs used at my house he needs to unload.

We can discuss some ideas I have for another 4 link design also, similar to your sy.

Re: when good springs go bad...

How old, Daron? My first set lasted for almost eight years and the drivers side started to get some very small signs of cracking on the outside so I replaced both of them this year to be safe. I like them due to their excellent rebound characteristics and their light weight. Eight years under my truck gave them a workout, but it definitely is not a daily driver either. Curious whether or not driving them under "normal" conditions has any bearing on their life span.

Hey Martin! Good to hear from you. As you can tell I have sort of dropped off the face of the earth, cyber wise. Barb says her and Ruth have been conversing consistently over the last few weeks, unfortunately I have been traveling a lot.
How is your Ty?

I am leaning toward the coil overs, but would like to replace the flex a form if bruce's deal works out.

Matt, I agree. I had the bell techs on the Sy and really liked them. My only hang up with the 4 link is I dont have the time to invest at the moment, yet that is what I really want to do... I am leaning toward an interim fix till I can go that route, at least those are my thoughts today.

Nah, you never tossed those in the trailer. Not sure where the old springs went. If Bruce's single spring isnt a 3 inch drop then I may want to work out a deal on the bell techs.

I would love you to do a 4 link, but I am even more crazy busy than I was during the Syclone work up, and it is gathering cob webs... I am thinking the Ty needs to get back right and drivable before it goes on jackstands...

These springs were one of the first set of Typhoon springs flex a form sold. They have to be 10 years old. This Ty has had a very easy life in the last 10 years, not many miles at all. Very few launches and even fewer long road trips.
