JustDSM you may want to check the fuse. Someone(Jimmy I think) just had a fuel problem and it turned out to be a blown fuse.
A few years ago I burned out a fuel pump on my S10 beater because of a clogged fuel filter.
You may have already checked these things, I just thought I'd mention it.
I've checked both ECM fuses, both were fine. I popped the coil wire off the coil and confirmed that I've got spark. I've jumpered the fuel pump test connector to 12v+ and I've still got nothing from the fuel pump (no sound). I've already bought a new filter the day I picked the truck up in preperation for the routine maint. stuff, but I've not even crawled under it to see if it has been recently replaced.
The truck did have some hesitation/bogging on WOT upshifts, and looking back it now would have been a tale-tale sign I was losing fuel pressure if I was thinking..
However, the igntion system 'appears' to have been gone through recently, as it has a set of new(ish) Taylor wires. I'll confirm the rest of the ignition system is up to par, but I suspect I'm not going to find anything. The truck ran awesome up until the point it just failed to start out of the blue. Went to watch the new Die Hard movie and afterwards just wouldn't fire.
I also noted that it was taking 2-3 cranks to fire it when it was cold. After some research here it seems the owners reporting similar stuff have narrowed it down to the fuel pump relay (which I confirmed is working) or the fuel pump.
If there's anything else I should look/check feel free to chime in. I'm all ears. Looking to make this thing as healthy as my EVO (11.9@119 up here at Bandimere).
