have you ever tried the grand cherokee box? i was going to try it when i couldn't get a hold of the guy who was selling the zq8s on here.

Just had a spirited highway drive next to a camaro, and I was sawing the wheel to keep it in my lane. 4k in OD, wasn't much fun. I'm definitely going to pull it out and put the stock box back in.

4k in OD is around 125mph. These truck aren't all that stable at those speeds. The handling seems to really go down hill quickly past 105 mph.

The grand Cherokee box may be worth a try. I think I may have to find one this weekend. If I do I will be sure to report back.

flaming river makes boxes, but they are $650 and all polished up. I get ZQ8s for $40 shipped to my door, its just arduous to clean it, paint it, bleed it, then have it be loose and pull it out again.

I'm going to call the junkyards and find a similar box, probably a Jeep, or 1LE or F41 ThirdGen

I've been seeing these at junkyards lately, might have to grab one and give it a shot. My rebuilt ZQ8 still has quite a bit of slop in it, no more VatoZone for steering boxes.

Im also on a hunt for a Z steering box. Came across a post on an S10 forum saying the saginaw 700 is the same as the z steering boxes.
