    Rockers questions...

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is. - Unfortunately, that seems to be my practice. I like Roller Rockers, because of better durabilty, less friction and higher RPM capability. But then there's always the $$ problem. As far as stock types, I think the lighter Alum type offer precision and...

    Temp gauge readings!

Stock T guages Stock T guages The stock temp guage sucks and I have proof. When my Ty was still on warranty, I took it into the (d)stealer because the trip odometer didn't work. Well, I didn't realize it, but I guess they don't fool w dashes anymore. Instead I guess they go to outfits that...

Fuel Pump plate on 4.3 ?

Hey Guys, My Ty is still @ Conleys' and he is still correcting my mistakes. I may have found them also, but I was in the middle of a move, and buying a house at the same time. Anyway, I guess I hadn't put a plate over the Fuel Pump hole in the Pass side front on the Bowtie block that I...

stock replacement rotors; slotted vs. cross drilled

So why do U need the rotors to be slotted or crossdrilled ? It's doubtful if it accomplishes anything except to reduce the braking surface. Unless Ur just after the looks from the outside.

how dangerous is a bad wheel bearing?

Wheel bearings Wheel bearings Yeh, once they get loose and start rattling around in there, U'll grind them to powder pretty quick. Don't ask me how I know that. It can even get hard to get the wheel off when U start fusing the powder together.

    Trans temps

Trans temps Yeh, I kinda agree w U ! The temps quoted seem to be bordering on "too low". I know that according to the info from the trans performance vendors, 180-190 F is a good temp, and temps above there - sustained - can sacrifice some longevity. But we are talking about an oil here and...

Trans T's Trans T's 120-140 F ? Those are really low Trans Oil temps. Are any of them at WOT ? How R U measuring them and where ?

    O2 mvolts

O2 volts O2 volts I have no experience w Datamaster, but alot of experience w Turbolink on GN's. There good O2's are high 700's, and the 800's R rich. However, one of the other scan tools, maybe Scanmaster or OTC ?, reads about 100 mV higher. Do we have the same thing here ?

    bad window motor??

Window motor. Window motor. Replacing the window motor is a real PITA. But Ur in luck - it is covered real well in the Forum posts. I copied the one that was published and added a few tricks to it myself. If U can't find these in the archives, let me know as I have copied it and have the dates.

    electrical short (ecm1 wire)

Servando, U don't need to hook the vacuum into the boost solenoid w the PTE turbos (it isn't used for boost control), but if U don't connect it electrically, U will get a code on the computer. At least that's what PTE tells me.

    Mechanical Gauges inside the truck...

Mech vs Electric Mech vs Electric The full sweep Mech gauges are definitely superior to the non-full sweep electricals, and I have gone with them. I'm thinking that the only electrics that compare in accuracy are the ones that AM offers in full sweep. The oil temp gauge isn't too difficult to...

whining alternator - but still charging...

Whining Alt. Whining Alt. I would guess that your Alt bearing is worn enuf to make that noise, but that won't stop the alternator from working until it gets real loose. I suppose U could replace the bearing , but unless U can do it yourself, it might cost as much as a rebuilt Alt. I would just...

    Hartman Stage IV Tranny kit

Yes, they can slam it back so violently onto the back bumper that the rear wheels go off the ground. Of course, it will come back down - I can guarantee U that ! This is why the real hot ones have "wheelie bars".

    Transmission tests

Some great detail. I don't have near that knowledge, but there is one other simple test that could also be useful. Hook up a pressure gauge to the pressure ports - high up on the Drivers side in the front. Then w a long hose, run the reading into the cab while U have the engine on, and observe...

    front diff leaking....now with pic!!!!!

OK, mine is also leaking in the same location. But another Q is, what do U use to seal it ? There is no gasket ! The book says to use some special Loctite Anaerobic flexible sealer. Well Loctite has been bought out, and the old part number 4 the sealer is no good anymore. So, I found something...
