I'm starting to think Aspen might be more rare than Garnet. I think there are more Aspen owners on this board than there are Garnet (I only know of myself, the one owner that was selling his, and Sherlock
). But, you never see an Aspen for sale, yet Garnets have been popping up quite often over the past two years on ebay. I have VINs to 8 Garnets. This is not the list from sportmachines because there are '92s listed on there as Garnets, which can't be right. These are just the vins from ones I've found on here and on ebay. If the number of Garnets for sale on ebay keeps up like it is, then there could be a ton more nobody here knows about.
Garnet # and last location I know of are #0453 - Chicago, #0649 - Arizona, #0755 - Wyoming, #1473 - mine - Indy, #1519 - Oregon, #2050 - Kansas, #2058 - Minnesota, #2084 - Michigan.

Before the recently relative 'onslaught' of Garnett FS, I didn't see any Garnett for sale for years before you bought yours. So who really knows. I agree its hard to track Garnett from registry's, because some owners don't know the difference between Garnett and Apple Red...
I am prety sure Doug in St.L also has a Garnett as well.

I had never seen or heard of a Garnet until I found mine. I had just sold my '02 Eclipse GT, and had some extra money sitting around, so thought I would look for another toy. I had always wanted a Ty, so I looked on autotrader. Sure enough, one of the first ones that was close to me was a Garnet in Cincy. Never seen that color before, and that's when I signed up on this board. Took one look at it, loved the color, and bought it. If only I knew what a headache it was going to be. Most of the problems came from it sitting for so damn long. When I started tearing it apart is when I started going through all the receipts I had on it. Between June of '01, when the previous owner had a tranny service, fuel filter, and other maintenance done, and the time I bought it in July of '04, less than 200 miles was put on it. I think thats why all the oil seals started leaking everywhere not long after I bought it.
I have heard of a Doug in St. Louis, but without anything confirmed, or a truck number, I don't have it written down on my list. Is this the same Doug that Sherlock claims to know everything about Typhoons? If so, Sherlock says that Doug told him that only 6 Garnets were made, and that's where Sherlock came up with his production numbers he posted in one of his ebay adds. Sherlock also said Doug has one of every color, which would mean he would have an Aspen as well which brings my whole off-topic entry back on-topic.

Ok, I had seen that pic before, but didn't know who's it was. I figured it was a bunch of syty people gettin together. Didn't realize it was one persons collection. Lucky sob.
