Re: Black List??
When I was trying to push this idea before, it would break down (no pun intended
) kind of like this. My mom does this for an Olds site, and I thought it was a good idea.
1. You join through the site.
2. Somebody has to step up and be willing to deal with the info submitted and be the 24 hour "help guy".
3. Once you register through the site, you are contacted by the volunteer "help guy", and they take your info, and you take the "help guys".
4. The "help guy" enters your info into his personal book which contains all of the other people too. The info would not be known by anyone but the "help guy". It would not be public as you would have to be in need of assistance and call the "help" to get others info. You keep the help guys info in your wallet, SyTy or wherever.
If you join, you have to be willing to accept getting a call at any hour of the day from SyTy members. If it's not possible, you don't have to help them, but you do have to accept the fact you will get the call if need be.
So the "help guy" would recieve your information personally through e-mail or site PM. He would then enter it in a book or file that will not be seen by other members. The "help guy" will in turn, give you his personal number which you would call if you need help. He would look up the nearest members numbers, and give them to you. You call and get the help you need.
It sounds complicated, but it's rather easy if we have someone who will actually volunteer to be the official "SyTy help guy". In my old thread about this, someone volunteered but that was quite a bit ago.
I personally don't think it should be limited to paying members. That drops the possibilities too much. You could be broke down a mile away from a non paying member and not know it, who would have registered but couldn't because he didn't donate.
It's just a suggestion as I wouldn't be willing to volunteer to be the official help guy. I would register if it were made even though I'll probably never use it myself. I'd be more than willing to help out any SyTy'ers that break down or have trouble near my area though.
