Dazed and Confused
I have a question about bearing failure. My truck has 65000 miles and I have had it for several years. I do regular maintenance and follow the rules of owning a syclone. The last year or so I started to notice a noise that sounds kind of like a sticky lifter, I replaced all the lifters and it still makes the same noise. What it does is right after it warms up at all,you rev it up a little and let off ,on the way back down you hear ticking. If you hold it just above idle to cruising rpm it will do it constantly. It show up on an auto x-ray as knock. Could it be a lower end bearing or something like a bad timing chain? I have kept it fairly stock just minor upgrades, I did put an ultimate chip with fuel pump and aux heat exchanger along with new cat and mufflers with a few other little things. I have had it that way for at least 5 years or so running 20 psi . Thanks for any ideas.
