Re: OddFire v6 Blow thru e85

Now you can see why only one other person is running an oddfire setup. I think if you could change over to even fire things would be different.

Bummer. I was hoping to see this run on Big Stuff 3. I should have my motec on the way so I can be another odd fire build.

One of the lifters bore need to sleeve which mean I got to take the engine apart.
Every time I get one step forward, something goes wrong taking me backward.

I tore it a part, took the block to a machine shop.

Does $800 sound right to sleeve all 12 lifter bores ?

Back at it..

Got the lifter bore fixed
Order a new cam - my spec

The 18 degree heads/ intake are for sale, I also have 23 degree heads and intake.
BYE the18 ports are 50% larger then the 23.

Update
Since I am not confidence I will get the oddfire to work and don’t want to waste too much more money, I decided to build the motor myself what the help from google.
It’s a bit challenging , this was a dry sump engine and I had the main cap machine for an oil pump and shit don’t line up right.
The crank is two piece and I am using the stock oil pan.
The sprocket on the crank is set to retard, so setting the timing chain to 0 degree was a task.
No dip stick so I took a drill to it.

I ditch the 18 degree heads and going with 23 degree, I have headers and turbo all ready.

I think I am done with the long block, waiting for the new intake to get done.

Going to install the engine leaving the stock tran and fuel system for now.
If I have trouble getting it to start and running, I might dump it all and start a new build.

Thanks, I got some more things to straighten out before auto tune. :)
It backfires during starting / cranking
The timing is retarted 26 degree and moving the distributor doesn't change the timing.
Not much info out there for this 'odd' setup.

Re: OddFire v6 efi e85

Re: OddFire v6 efi e85

Finally got the BS3 and oddfire working correctly, timing is on the spot.

Thanks to everyone on this thread helped and the middle finger to guys that never reply my emails.

I have many hours trial and error, buying parts and take apart to understand how things work. understand why no one wants to give away information free.

Next is a complete fuel system upgrade for E85 and then the transmission, I might go th400.

Thanks
Denny

Congratulations im glad you got this running. As a fellow odd Fire guy I'm glad to see something else besides motec can run the motor.

Rear seal leaking real bad, its a two piece crank adapt to stock pan.

Plan to put in a th400 after I fix the rear seal.

Dye and UV light -

Rear leak fixed, I didn't install the rear seal adapter correctly , my friend fixed it.

I found a nice th400 with a 27 spline output shaft - also got a 23 spline transfercase input shaft in case this gets twisted.
