Problems with Rockford Racecraft

Guy Reffett has my official vote for biggest scumbag in the syty community.

For those of you who were his references/friends and said there was no one else you would trust to touch your truck :tdown: I'm sure he did right by you, but for whatever reason he has chosen to screw me.

After spending close to 17k with him, he quoted me 3 months to build it, it took 21 months for him to get it running. He did not get it painted, which was included in the original deal, but instead charged me labor for hanging the panels that the body shop should have done. then tells me I have a busted trans.. then he does me a "favor" of charging me 1k to put in a used trans. Shortly after i got it home and ever since, the turbo has been leaking and the truck needs a tune, oh and he still owes me the build pictures that he claims to have(i have seem some).

I would not be posting this other than the fact that he will not answer the phone when I call, will not return emails, or texts. Have some decency! I did nothing to him but give him my money and trust and he screwed me.

This is obviously the shortened version of my side of the story but you get the jist.

I was a noob with some money that got taken advantage of by a scumbag of a business man. I am putting this out there in the effort that no one else will get screwed buy Rockford Racecraft.

If you have questions or would like proof, I have all emails, and all of my phone records. My mistake being i got nothing in writing first.

I should have known when he had the truck at his shop but the owner only wanted to deal Guy. So Guy charged me for the truck, made payble to RR, but the title was not ever registered to him???

sounds like previous owner had work being done, but no way to pay for it....so just handed the truck over to him basically.

Sorry to hear about your problem. Guy has always treated me well, not saying he didnt treat you different, but he has always been cool to me. Just saw him this weekend at NATs, him and the guys with him were very friendly and nice as always. Hope you get things worked out. But for a grand i will pull the trans out of my TY and sell it to you! or sell you the one i have sitting next to it for $990.

Well in the begining with me he was really cool and even answered my phone calls. As the months passed he stopped answering.

He seems like really nice. Just a bad business man

LMAO. Join the club.....I have had whole posts removed before, sometimes for the better. It happens.

Thanks for the heads up with RR though....I will stear clear if thats how he does business.

We are just trying to keep things civil is all. You have a legitimate post, and you will certainly get your fair share of responses on both sides. We just like to keep outright personal attacks at a minimum. :tup:

Pretty sure the "scumbag" part wasnt fully necessary to be viewed by everyone and have it splashed across their screens, although its understandable given the way you feel.
It wasnt done to censor you. It was done to keep a clean look as far as people viewing the forum (at work, or who have kids etc). What you do in the thread is a different story. People dont have to read what you wrote in here.

yeah. He seems real nice in the begining...... I even tried talking with Silly a big supporter of RR. he said he would pass on my message. Thanks Silly. But I just can let it go anymore. Just call me back.

I think everyone should be able to share the experiences, good or bad, with the forum members without fear of censorship or repercussions for their honest opinions. However there is a line that needs to be respected and name calling is a little Busch League IMO. What they do after that is up to them, but at least they are able to hopefully for opinions a little better and more accurately with reviews from both ends of the spectrum. Just my opinion...... I appreciate you shaing your side of things. :tup::tup:

Fixed. "Fun" is not the correct word to use when its of this subject matter.

For clarification, nothing was censored or edited. The word "SCUMBAG" was removed from the thread title and that was it. Reasons are posted above.

I can understand that. Im just angry/ venting/ getting over my embaressment of being taken.
It's a shame really I was so excited in the begining!

You still did not answer me. I personally dont give a damn about your dealings with them right now, it doesn't involve me.

What I am asking is why were there 4 calls made showing MY number and you leaving voice mails followed by multiple calls from your number.

This is the guy that after threats and hostile phone calls about finishing his truck couldnt pay the bill once it was done. For the FIRST TIME in my professional career I let a guy take a vehicle and make payments.

Last week it was nats and the next two it is a family vacation. (that I postponed to go to nats)

I got a couple messages from you when I could check my phone. Same tone as this thread. Hmmm, no call back? I wonder why that is?

Well what happened was I got a text saying "in the machine shop can't hear you will call you back" so i texted back that I hadn't called anyone had just got home from work.

I got a call an hour later asking what was going on that the first call was answered and he couldnt hear anything and that was followed by 3 more calls from my number and then multiple calls from him number. So I just want to make clear that I don't appreciate being part of childish games.

so yet again i end with........

and you wonder why you dont get a return call
