Well, this past weekend marked the start of constuction for my new shop. I know there have been a couple other "new shop" threads here in OT, so I figured I'd make my own 
Below is a quick Illustrator drawing of the layout of the shop, consisting of the existing 3 car garage (960 sq. ft.) and the new 40' x 60' pole barn addition (2400 sq ft.). The "little boxes" represent how many S-10's can be crammed inside when finished. There will be a 12' x 14' roll up door on the left side down where the two horizontal boxes are, and a 16' x 14' roll up door on the top end of the drawing.

Here are some photos to get things started. We've had the ground cleared since last summer but we've been bringing in some fill every now and again to level things out.
Day 0
Day 1
First "real" day of working on the shop. Pulled down the old chimney, got the batter boards up, all corners marked out, string lines up, pole locations marked out, started compacting the ground, pulled up the power wires going to the existing garage and started digging a couple holes, but realized without the proper auger, it was kind of pointless, so that will be postponed until Wednesday.
Day 2
First Inspection Passed!
Holes all dug for the footings. Although the plans only call for the poles to be placed on tampered ground, we're gonna toss in 3 inches of concrete as a base.
Of course the last hole of the day decided to be a bitch, or should I say the previous property owner who decided to use their backyard for a concrete dump, along with the sheets of glass and old steel parts that had to be dug out and removed by hand.

Day 3
Holes leveled off, concrete pads poured for extra support.
Day 4
Poles starting to go up.
Day 5
All poles are up, skirt boards in place and concrete coming tomorrow for the footings.
Day 6
Concrete for the footings poured. Unfortunately, thats all that happened that day.
Day 7
Finally got to spend a full day on the shop. Holes refilled with dirt, started framing up 2 of the walls.
