Do you guys lower street tire PSI when ur gonna go racing??

Im goin back to the Drag Strip tonite, and Im puttin on my
ZR1 SawBlades.. I don't really think that the Cheap Ebay
Sumitomo 275/315s with hook any better then the 245/16
Kumhos will.. But Im gonna put them on anyway..

My real question is, will lowering Rear tire PSI buy 5 PSI
will that make any difference? Any Better Traction Added??

Thanx,
Rob

Re: Street Tire PSI Question

Update? Did you try different pressure, and were there any gains? How were your times compared to the previous runs on the stock size tires?

Nah.. Track was pretty packed, they wouldn't even give me enough time
to Spool the turbo up past 3 psi.. The N, Rev, Rev, then Spool took to long
to them.. But yet they let Diesel trucks spool up for like 20+ seconds thou..

I have said this on here before and maybe it will help someone.

You have as much time as you want to spool your turbo....Let the other lane stage first (both bulbs lit), then do the neutral rev brake thing when your pre-staged (one light lit), then under boost you can creep forward till the staged light is lit. It may take a little while to get used to staging this way, but its the only way I have found to avoid being rushed at the light....

If you don't care about your reaction time you can sit at the light as long as you need to spool your turbo, your time doesn't start till you move and break the beam....

I like the idea of not fully staging until you're ready so they don't rush you through, good thinking.
