Thats awesome. How many cubic inches is the motor?

Re: Syclone #1900 - Project Resurrection...++

Hate to bump an old thread - but one, that build is awesome....and two: I really want to know if you've been able to drive the truck yet and if so, any rubbing with that wheel set up?

Thanks for the bump and interest...... I haven't had the chance to drive it yet....but can tell you that I'm pretty sure there would be a little rubbing under real world driving conditions. We're planning on sectioning the frame when building the triangulated 4-link setup in order to make plenty of room for the multiple uses I plan on using the truck for.

thanks for the input - i'm just trying to figure out how wide i can really go with a tire set up on both front and rear with no mods outside of spacers....seems like 9.5" is the limit that i'm gathering. Can't wait to hear the results when you do get to fire that beast up and take it for a drive.

Re: Syclone #1900 - Project Resurrection...++

Any more update's on the truck.:tup:

None that I really felt were worth updating. Have just been making the necessary changes to the core support and front grill to make it possible to mount the intercooler the way I would like. Hopefully in the near future I'll have something worthy of pics if I can keep myself motivated on the project. I'm not going to lie....there are times that it's hard to keep going on it....and find myself contemplating on cutting it all loose. Could it be meltdown time again......lol......I think someone in my old "for sale" thread offered up his straight jacket. May need to look him up!

0996sy was trying to get a Texas meet together. It sounds like you need a meet/wrench session to get back into it.

I try'ed, I have contact with most houston/austin/san antonio area SyTy's right here on the forum. It's not my fault nobody wants to come togather. We would make for our own Texas size meet if we could just get everyone on the same page and interested (truck or not). Would give everyone a chance to meet and enjoy themselves. Im still down for an august meet, just cant do it by myself. Ya i have a couple trucks that do not run, one is close to completion and the one mildly stock Teal runs great. Maybe thats how i ended up with three. I was having serious withdraws for a year while the Teal Ty was undergoing a new engine. I know what it feels like to get discouraged after so much work and effort. Being around others that have running trucks would help. At least you can go for a ride to keep your courage up.

Re: Syclone #1900 - Project Resurrection...++

Yea....believe it or not....it's not really an issue of having the help to get it done. My brother and I make good progress on the projects when I get the parts in to do it. Progress is slow due to the funds side of it. Making almost 100k less a year doesn't help a damn bit....lol. So trying to finish the vision I had for this truck and the money it will take to do it has become a little frustrating/disheartening. Plus all my car buddies have basically been trying to talk me into abandoning the Syclone and putting the funds into the Camaro. But I'm trying to stay true to the Syclone. I just ordered some of the cooling components and fuel components that I've been looking to get. So I should be getting it to the point that I can start it and let it run fuel injected soon. I've been starting it every once in a while with the carb on it....but it's just not the same. I'm hoping that within the next couple of months....I'll be able to start it and actually take it up and down the road under it's own power. But of course that will still be far far from finished. But I'm hoping that once I can get it under it's own power.....any and all thoughts of walking away from it will be gone. I'm hoping that will put me on a complete different level of patience and motivation.....lol. Man....I just re-read this post.....and there sure is a lot of hoping going on.....lol..

Re: Syclone #1900 - Project Resurrection...++

Thanks guys...

As far as the tail lights....I posted an ebay link back in post number 87. It still works. I guess their just smoked Altezza's...

Got a little bit done on the Syclone in the last couple of weekends. I had issues with the sheet metal intake that I had made a long time ago so I had to have some spacers made to get it to work. When I had the spacers made we originally wanted them o-ring'd which is what we did. But after jacking with it time and time again....I ended up deciding to weld the spacers to the intake. Anyway....we finally got all of that finished up so now the sheet metal is ready to go. Some of you may remember that I wanted to do two separate dyno's between the sheet metal intake and the daytona dash setup. Just wanted to see which one actually made more power. So now the intakes are ready. We also got the LS2 coils mounted to the valve covers. Really liked the way that came out as well. The intercooler is almost officially part of the custom core support....and I finally got the fuel cell and filters and regulator in. Just need to get some fittings and line in to get all the fuel system plumbed. Also picked up a radiator and fan setup for the bed and should have that mounted soon. It's not the final radiator and fan setup....but will be good enough for some street driving and testing. Sorry....didn't bother to take any pics.....but will soon. It was just nice making some good progress towards getting her fired up and running on the BS3. It might not seem like a lot...but it's been some major things that have been messing with my head. Feeling much better about it now...lol.
