Not sure what to call this one, or any info on it. Just found it browsing a local site.

Looks to me like someone started with a sy and welded the stude cab around it.

That's uh... well.. different... I sure hope the Sy or Ty started as a totald truck.

I wonder what they need two windshield wiper motors for Lol...

Why not take the factory GM one off and smooth the fire wall.. I think that would have been the least time consuming thing to do!

Re: Sytubaker?

That looks like one of the fiberglass conversion kits they sell for S10's I think the company is out of Georgia, if they're still in business. They use to come to Carlisle's kit car show, but I don't remember seeing them in a couple of years. They also have a really differant style dash and interior kit for them

Re: Sytubaker?

I think Tony's right ... it's a Study welded to a Syclone cab... on Syclone frame. That all looks like steel to me.. no glass.

Nope neither of those. You might be right about it being a real Stu cab, but the conversion I'm thinking about kept the S10 metal firewall and grafted on to the front A pillars. You could keep the factory dash if you wanted to. I'll have to look and see if I kept any of the pictures from it.

Re: Sytubaker?

It has an 88-98 fullsize chevy bumper on it. ??? It looks like they kept the factory antenna too. :barf: I'm trying to figure out what the dryer hose if for? Fresh air for the cab or engine?

Stock setup sucked ventilation air from the cowl... he welded that up, so he had to improvise.

I like it. The wheels aren't right... needs some 17" steelies with dog-dish center caps.
Also needs to be lowered a bit.

Re: Sytubaker?

There was an ol' 40's-ish deuce-coupe kind of car I saw at a car show in Abby about 7 years ago that had a full Sy-Ty drivetrain in it from the engine to the AWD and wheels. Looked really clean, lots of real nice custom touchs. Wish I had a pic of it.

Might have been a 30's? Called Black Ice?

Built in mid late 90s around Seattle area.

Re: Sytubaker?

Sounds like the Quadra Deuce by Rad Rides, but I think that had a V8 in it.

From the looks of it, they took some time with this truck in order to keep everything functional. Thats pretty cool. I wonder if it has the same issues like a real syty.

Re: Sytubaker?

There's a kit available that lets that truck generation bolt right up to a first gen S10 frame. I expect they did that swap and then welded in the SyTy firewall so they could use the stock master cylinder, etc. Maybe the dash too :-D

Might have been a 30's as I'm not overly familiar with cars from that age. It was all black with multi-coloured Ghost Flames that could only be seen from a few angles. Door handles were replaced with a small pull located along the body trim at the end of the door that blended in with the trim.
