    more Power Steering issues

Re: more Power Steering issues On the Reman pumps, U can buy the pump alone or the pump w reservoir. I was tempted to buy just the pump because it was significantly cheaper and then install it myself into the old reservoir. Then I found out why it was so much cheaper. When U try to put the...

    Steering shaft upgrade for CHEAP

Re: Steering shaft upgrade for CHEAP Yeh, we had a GP on those non-rag shafts a few years ago. I also converted the steering box to an F Body quick ratio. Steering is really quick and responsive now - maybe a little on the "jittery" side. Only one drawback - I have ATR headers, and this fatter...

    ABS Replace

Re: ABS Replace Merk, Don't know what's in your kit, but if U switched to rear discs, then U probably won't hold as well. I assume U mean "hold" at the line when drag racing ? Discs typically don't hold as well as drums, particularly when U can do some things to rear drums to hold better...

    VSS, Electronic Speedo Connections

When I 1st put my totally rebuilt Ty together, I didn't hook up the that little white box that's on top of the ECM, and of course I didn't have a speedometer. That's the electronic speedometer, right. Is it also the VSS - vehicle speed sensor ? Anyway there are the main connectors, and there is...

    SyTy Valvebody, Lockup special ?

I got a MegaRaptor 700R-4 from PATC and didn't need a core - pretty good deal. However, now I'm thinking, did it have the right valvebody ? Does the SyTY 700 have a special Valvebody like the GN does (200) ? Also, from alot of the posts lately, it appears that the lockup feature has been...

    tcc lockup kits

Re: tcc lockup kits So when are Syty's supposed to lockup stock ? Someone told me that there is just a switch that makes it come on in 4th gear. Sound right ? Mine comes on too early and bogs like hell. Or maybe, my trans shifts too soon ?

    EGT probe location

I have an EGT on my Ty and I installed it on my ATR Pass Header about 1-2" before it goes into the Turbo. When U get on it the temperature soars to ~ 1600 F and will go over that if U stay on it. We are wondering if that is a real temp. Is that where the EGT probe belongs ? Or should it go...

Chip for 60 # Hi Imp injectors ?

Hey, has anyone written chips for the 60 #' Hi Imp injectors ? I suppose they would need a Datamaster output, but even I have an old version of that, I don't have any files because I'm running on the Gen VII Accel ECM and I'm about to give up on it. Anybody to work w me on this ? Want to make...

What controls lockup in the 700 ?

I had my 700 rebuilt by PATC in Shreveport - the Mega Raptor. Seems pretty good, but it locks up way too early. Every time U shift into OD it locks up. Typically even at about 1000-1500 RPM and then it bogs like a bast*rd. What controls lockup, and when is it supposed to happen ? I understand...

Got my Ramchargers radiator fan today

Re: Got my Ramchargers radiator fan today I thought Ramchargers was out of business ? About 7-10 mos ago, I bought the dual fan setup from them for my GN, and it was a real bargain @ ~ $100. Then for another $15-20. U could get wiring that hooked directly into the stock fan controls and ECM...

    Methanol VS. Methanol & water.

Re: Methanol VS. Methanol & water. Either is OK, but water has much superior heat transfer properties - the best of any normal liquid. I have published these properties before, so they're in the archives somewhere. MeOH is an organic liquid and essentially all of them have inferior properties...

ABS Delete Kit - Catchup Run

Re: ABS Delete Kit - Catchup Run Hey, Michael, I bought mine ~ a year ago and received 2 lines. Same as above - I don't think the Tee and wheel line were included at that time. If U could send me that also, I'd be glad to pay for it. Let me know how to send a check. Thanx

    ABS Delete ???

Re: ABS Delete ??? I got those lines to delete the ABS, but there is 1 question - how do U keep the ABS light from coming on ?

    Oil filter adaptor FYI.

Re: Oil filter adaptor FYI. One of my stock Al lines had a hole in it, so I had Engines To Go in Denver put in AN lines (I think #8) on a new adaptor. Good point, I guess I should look for leaks. I also switched both oil pressure spots (stock & AM) to the remote outlet.

    One Piece Or Two Piece

Re: One Piece Or Two Piece I've got the 5051 Bowtie block and I guess it's 2 piece from the factory. But U can do a little machining and bolt a one piece retainer on the back of the block. There's NO comparison ! Two piece is a real POS. I have a GN and a TTA, and I am so F'ing sick on...

    What pistons is best choice?

Re: What pistons is best choice? I got the next step up from the SRP's after talking to J&E a few years ago - the Extreme Duties. I don't know if these are the same as the "Turbo" J&E's. A couple of guys warned not to get those. They said something about them being noisy, but that's not exactly...

    aluminum block

Re: aluminum block I hope Ur right but I heard that a few Al blocks have split and that in general they are not as strong as cast. Makes sense because the tensile strength on Alum is nowhere near that of iron or steel. And there's alot less #'s there also, and strength often goes along w weight.

Getting hold of ATR ? Exhaust

My shop mechanics have not been able to get hold of ATR for months, and yet one guy on the list said he just bought SyTy headers from them. Does anyone have a new number to get their stuff ? I want some GN exhaust from them.

    fuel line fittings

Re: fuel line fittings, AN Re: fuel line fittings, AN I might mention something I tried a few years ago. I tried to put a 2nd fuel flow line in my GN and tried to use 3/8" brake line - compression fittings. Since its good for 5000 Psi brake fluid, I figured sure it would seal. That was what...
