I haven't gotten the details from Waller in a while on how everything is coming, but all is supposed to be ready to ship sometime in the next couple months. I still owe some :2cents: so that's a factor. On my end, I haven't done squat since early October. It's in storage for the winter, snuggled in between a '59 Vette, '69 Z-28 and a 25' Mariah bow rider. I won't get to touch it again until maybe late April  . I have picked up a few new parts to have on hand for when I get the motor back; Walbro and harness, Ultimate for 50# and Vortecs, gauges and pillar, etc. Prolly the first thing to go will be the I/C to swap in an A/A.

About nothing will happen until April / May, but once that comes around, it'll be full-tilt until it's on the road again.

I haven't heard of anyone from Vermont here either. I've never seen another Sy or Ty up here, other than the one I bought. They're few and far between, and up here in the salt belt, a 1992 that has been here since day 1 is in the junkyard, rotted to pieces. Wish there was someone local to me that had one and wouldn't mind giving me a hand tuning, installing, etc. I'm sure the install won't be an issue, but I'm also sure I'll be asking questions one after the other when the time comes to drop the engine back in.

haha, I'm in NH and my '93 Ty's been here since day 1... isn't in the junkyard, but it sure is rotted to pieces! :(

CARFAX showed an accident (no-salvage title type) back in '00 in Jersey. I haven't seen it in person, but the front bumper cladding looks more shiny than the rest of the cladding. It's got a broken drivers rocker cladding (since picture taken), CD player doesn't wok, and the A/C needs a charge. Other than that, all is good.

2 kind fellas from the Twin Cities area are going Sunday to give it a walkaround, test drive and DM run for me to make sure it's fine for the 1400 mile trek back to VT.

Thanks "MotorMouth" and "sy1907" for checking it for me.

Update.....

Update.....

**update**

I finally had the opportunity to move her out of hibernation yesterday, and am moving it to my garage for the heart transplant. I bought this truck mid August '04, and the same day flat-bedded it straight to the garage where it sat until yesterday. I've spent just enough time with it to empty the engine out of the back end and ship it to Waller. Needless to say, I haven't had a chance to dive in at all on it, but I'm sure there will be a skeleton or two in the closet. I'm sure we'll spend plenty of time together in the near future! For some reason, all 4 tires are TORCHED! They look like they just finished a burnout contest. Wonder if the owner was blowing donuts or something before the crank split in two

. I made the mistake of itemizing everything I'll be buying for it and came up with a staggering number. Funny how that works. I'll keep everyone posted.....

and it begins.....

and it begins.....

Yet another update.

My trucks are far cooler than my garage. My garage is very small, and pretty much sucks hiney.

The labeling of EVERYTHING under the hood by the disassembler is appreciated.

This will be a great opportunity to clean up everything, inspect wiring and redo anything I don't like. A/C will get yanked, stock IC will be gone, JS frame pads will get installed. As kind of shown on the front diff, there is orange writing on the top of it like it came from a junkyard  . Anyone elses diffs have this?

No orange factory write on the front differentila as far as I am aware of (having parted out a Sy). While you have everything apart look at your balljoints, it they are still riveted in originals, they are going to be shot at 68K miles.

Re: 1992 Ty #1802 Saved....

I got the motor back today, and will hopefully have it in this afternoon. I don't expect it to fire for a month or so, but it'll be exciting to look at something other than bare frame rails.

Re: 1992 Ty #1802 Saved....

well worth the extra effort, I say... plus this way I get to eliminate all the odds-and-ends bolts that have no apparent purpose? Saves weight... best part is, the body shop is picking it up 9am tomorrow morning!

POR makes manifold paint? Wonder how durable it is? Looks really nice now though.
