Not too much further to go. Even with all that work, you still got a sweet deal!

No kidding Ken. Was it an original diff to the best of your knowledge?

The $5.37+tax ABS delete....

Everything is together and about ready run. I need to get it together enough to hit the road for break in once it does fire, so I'm adding the rad support, outer fenders, etc. Once it's quasi-roadworthy, I'll put fluids to it, prime the oil system and touch it off.....

Boy it looks good. You sure got a great deal on that truck to begin with. How come a built motor with ported Vortecs and an aftermarket camshaft but the stock turbo????

All the stock dress is on it just to get it moving and broken in; I've got no plans to keep the stock IC, turbo or fuel system. I just don't have the money on hand right now to fund the fuel system, turbo, IC and electronics to finish it off.

It runs

It runs

:git:

Tonight I, got it running. I ran it just long enough to check for leaks and make sure the oil pressure came up. It runs crappy at best, but does run. I haven't set the timing, the gas in the tank was old, and I don't have a fuel pressure gauge to set fuel pressure. It sure was nice to hear it touch off though. crank...crank....cough....sputter.....vrooom. After letting it idle for maybe a minute, I shut it off, drained and changed the oil and filter. It appears that the POR15 manifold paint is going to be a waste of money. It was smoking off the manifolds and xover pretty bad sitting there at idle, and has already started to discolor. Oh well.

I sat down, smiled, and had a cold beer.
