Re: Shaved Sy --rebuild thread

Looks great. Do you plan on coating or painting the exhaust housing on the turbo and the downpipe?

Everything else is either painted or shinny.

It should looks great when it's all back together.

My plan originally was to wrap the dp but that was too difficult and would make to tight of a fit. As for the exhaust housing I have a Lava turbo blanket that matches the wrap that will look very nice and keep temps down.

Just wanted to post an update... The wiring is getting started found a guy who has been wiring 45 years Aircraft/Automotive that is going to help me finish the rest of the truck wiring maybe more. He is just finishing a 54 Chevy Apache rolling on a 2007 Escalade Chassis, Powertrain, and Suspension. Oh and the powertrain is a Turbo LQ9. Oh by the way he's only charging me $600 to do all the wiring turn key from stem to stern. That's a pretty good price right?

Will update soon...............................................................

twin A1000 in the rear. Not hooked up. think of it as a spare fuel pump as well as making the rear end symetrical. LOL I think it looks sick.

Will get pics of twin A1000's once I get the new filter and make up the 8an lines. I would love to help you with your truck. I have 1.5 months left to get mine finished then on a truck to NY.

I think it's about 2500 miles from me to you, that's a hell of a trip but I could probably do it once my season ends here.

Re: Shaved Sy --rebuild thread

No actually I made them in aluminum first but couldn't get them to polish like I wanted so I bought 3 sheets of 18ga stainless from here http://www.mirroredstainlesssolutions.com/

Then I took the aluminum ones I cut with a pair of nibblers down to my machinest buddy and he cut the stainless to match the aluminum I allready cut myself. There isn't much available that will cut the 18ga stainless nicely.

However my aluminum inner fenders as well as my core support panels will be for sale....interested?

Thanks man the bed is finally empty. I think that means that I am getting close completion.
Today I finished the in cab wiring and push to start, moved the battery box back about a foot and began the install of the B&M shifter.

Here is a clip of the custom radiator with ffdynamics fans. Finally complete and ready to go in the truck for the last time. After alot of hand polishing and sharkhyde coating was applied it looks great and is protected.

Re: Shaved Sy --rebuild thread

A little more work done front wiring seems to be 100% complete except for a couple grounds.

The wires are totally hidden by these mirrored stainless panels they are white now because they are covered with protective plastic but the engine bay is going to look crazy once they are revealed. All that's left to do now is some vacuum lines, a couple sensors, fuel rails and lines, and intake piping which should be done by Saturday. The dash wiring starts next week and with any luck it will be out of here and on the way to NY in 15-20 days.

Re: Shaved Sy --rebuild thread

The truck is getting super close to completion. Installed Neoprene today, fit all stainless panels, mounted IC(last time), new couplers installed with piping, and the coolest part was that we got the new horns installed.

You might want to turn down the volume on your pc before you watch the video. These horns are awesome, they are 12v 4 note cadillac horns from 70's cadillac. They are totally hidden inside the fenders and they are so loud my mom came running out of the house 100ft away.
