Re: Typhoon Engine Dyno - 726hp

Just wanted to give an update guys. I have still been working with Nolan on the mid boost tune, i have run a best this year of 11.36@ 124mph. 1.79 60'. Only 18 psi on e98.

This is in a full weight Ty, stock block, factory ac, full int. Gonna work on suspension over the winter to help my 60' Still have quite a bit of boost left to play with...so a 10 sec time slip should be in my future.

Though the truck is completed....i am thinking of starting a build thread to catch everyone up that has not seen this truck.

Very impressive...and very similar turbo to mine. I will be w/o BS3...and E85...but hope to make it into the 11's too

Curious as to the price tag ($) on this engine?

I am too. Since it isn't totally exotic parts, this seems like a reasonable cost to performance balance? Matt: Would you mind a ball park on what the engine cost?

Impressive! Poor transmission.

I had FB performance in NY build me a 4l80e, i have done the billet transfer case input shaft as well as the sprag assm from RPM. Went with a custom Circle D billet multi disk lockup tc. Chris @ Circle D dared me to try and break it.

If you take a look at the cost of a fully built Campbell long block....+ dyno tuning you would be close. That does not take into account cost of the turbo, fuel system, etc....since i am running e98 for fuel its a fairly large fuel system.

Thanks for the kind words Frank. That was quite a ride to get to the meet. Anyone wondering how streetable this thing is.....drove it 700miles round trip (on drag radials) to make it to this meet.

Built or not, I'm sure the drivetrain isn't having as much fun as you! Congrats on the awesome build and I hope to see the big gun banner under your name soon.

Matt,

Can't wait to line up next to it next season @ NED. Mine will be in state in about an hour or two. Taking the plates off in a week or two and letting it sit for the winter.

Wishing it was spring already.... ran out of time this year....just as i was starting to have fun with the truck and getting to the track once a week it was time for the track to close.

Next season should be good, i still have a few issues to sort out....you know these trucks, never ending projects, but its come a long way since i bought it. I do love it....but it has not been easy....I think its a sickness we all have....SyTy disease:rotf:

Re: Typhoon Engine Dyno - 726hp

I started a thread about the Ty that this engine went into.....as well as pics of the build. (Newly rebuilt Ty 92 #0021) I will be updating pics on that thread every few days for a bit.

Re: Typhoon Engine Dyno - 726hp

Wanted to update a few things. I have gone a best of 11.27 @ 124mph with this build so far. That was at 18psi. Next year hoping to hit mid to high 10s @ 24psi. The goal was always 10.99 and be streetable, so my goals are very close. Next year im gonna hit it hard....
