My truck has been on vehicle dollies tucked away in the back of the garage transmissionless since last years NATS. Plan to take the big plunge here soon and cut my teeth on THM-700R4 rebuilding as soon as I get the required tools. Time and $ have kept it where it's still at. Sometimes there's just not enough hours in the day...

TURBO TY said:
dead as a door nail. damn hyperutectic pistons! why gm put those in our motors is beyond me. i am in the process of selling one of my houses and building a 30'x40' garage with a lift. then the ty will get a new heart transplant

Hurry up with that lift idea so when my hartman tranny explodes I can come over and use the lift, hopefully it has a coupleof passes left in her before she goes.

My sy is on stands as well, been there about a year now, just about ready to drive again, I have been being lazy with the truck but it is so hot here I just dont feel like turning wrenches, but it will be done and cooler out soon.

Mine runs & looks great.

Never been down for much more than a week - pulled the upper intake and did some cleaning out of extra metal that should have been taken care of 10 years ago :)

Trans is soon to go - oil pressure is lower than I'd like to see at idle. 113K miles original engine, trans, propshaft and turbo :) Drove from Chicago to KC and back.

#1 Wifes Typhoon. Daily driven even in the winter. When we bought the truck is leaked down 60% in two holes. Since then she has put over 30000 miles in about a year and a half. The truck is getting a new motor and trans installed this winter.

#2 Big Dawg sat from 1999 fall to this spring. Now its apart again after I popped the head gasket. It will be back together next week to chase that 10's time slip.

Dead...needs a motor rebuild...was the daily driver, so I had to go buy a new car to keep the old lady from bitchin' :(
The goal is to have it ready for the Nats next year...we'll see...too busy now with the biz to really concentrate on it.

Runs perfectly. It took a LOT of time and money to make it this way though. Driving it daily helps keep shit from deteriorating too. 61K original miles and it purrs...

Well, bought my Sonoma GT last september, with 53K miles on it, then drove 2K miles home, Boston Mass to Houston Tx, daily drove it for about a month and a half, than parked it in the garage, with 58K miles on it, and put it up on jack stands, for a complete suspension, engine, trans, rear axle rebuild. Also boxing the frame to strengthen things up, got new wheels for it, along with big bear brakes all around. Should be running on all the new running gear and motor by next years nats and will be looking for mid 10's or better.

Well my ty is on the working daily driver list. My actual daily driver is on loan to my brother while he repairs his broken DSM. Once I get it back, the Ty is going to get maintainance items such as a front end rebuild, different prop shaft, etc before the truck decides it's time to replace those items..

Mine is driven weekly, through the summer. Runs great, just saftey upgrades. It does have several new parts though (motor, trans, turbo) but basically has been good to me for about a year now.
