Shaved Sy --rebuild thread

Yes sort of. I didn't really keep the shelf I made a new pocket to house all of the toggles and the alky control as to not muddle up the dash board. As for the glove box I don't need one and wanted a much sleeker looking dash so I filled it in and there will be a Syclone logo recessed in the black suede in place of the original glove box.

Until its covered , i only see a big marshmallow where the dash used to be . lol

What head unit are you going to be running ? To make a new dash and leave the 1.5 din opening so a dash kit has to be used would take away from the finished product IMO .

I like all the new shiney stuff , your trucks coming together nicely .

Thank you for the kind words:
It is a double din cutout to house a kenwood excelon 9961. That will be the only thing on the dash besides the gauges. And we left a cutout in the back of the dash to make it easier to punch out the double din and install an Ipad instead if I want to in the future

There is more shiny stuff to come wait until you see the renz fab upper intake with smoothed welds and all shiney.

I know how you feel! This is the 3rd build on this truck over a period of almost for years 4 years and it has less than 250 miles on it since I bought it 4 years ago. Thanks, and like I said b4 I am building it, this time to be the sickest Sy ever.

I need to know how they install that B&M shifter. I have to install my composite x soon and I don't have a clue on how to do it.

Its is going to hold my fuel and trans temp gauge.

Re: Shaved Sy --rebuild thread

i dont know if they installed the shifter yet. however, we discussed it being just mounted to the floor between the seats. they wanted to do a syty console but with the kids climbing into the back for weekend drives it would be in the way. i went with this one and the button for the line lock http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-81050/?rtype=10

My syty console is going up for sale because this shifter looks so bad ass. I am building a custom glass console from the speaker box to the shifter, and my console will be a usable height as opposed to the stock one. The center console in these trucks are such a joke imo, why did they make them so short neway?

I talk to D & T about every weekend to find out the status on your truck and to chat. Cant wait to see pics of your done bc that means mine is that much closer.

A sneak peak for all the haters of the gauges installed that my buddy just sent me.
I really want to black out the bezels, dont like the chrome.

Does for me, might be your browser (using Firefox).

What color is the backing going to be? If everything is going to be black, or dark, the chrome will really stand out. Looks damn good IMHO

It `didn't work at first but I fixed it.

The backing is probably going to be either mirrored stainless or brushed aluminum hence the reason for not wanting the chrome. Plus I hate chrome and as of right now everything on the truck is stainless or aluminum.

Thank you very much for your positive encouragement.

Re: Shaved Sy --rebuild thread

pics please

The rest of the parts got lost in shipping including your upper intake. They found them today "THANK GOD" and they are on the way back to me. The arrival should be June 7th and I will have them on or mocked up for pics by the end of that weekend.

Just wait until you see your intake smoothed and polished.

Re: Shaved Sy --rebuild thread

Here are some pics of all the SHINEY parts about to be installed. I would have done it today but I didn't want to install the old ugly power steering pressure line so I went and got a new one and by that time I had to stop working on the truck and get home. Today i gave each piece a quick polish by hand with 100% cotton fleece and coated each piece with protectant. I may possibly have time to install all the part tomorrow before we take the boat out but I am not sure. If I do plan on the installed pics tomorrow.

Need to pull manifold back off to drill and tap for Afpr/Map, Brake booster, Boost controller, and Throttlebody. What size should I drill and tap these 1/8th NPT? or something else. The brake booster vacuum port is awfully large, maybe 1/4 Npt on that one? Help please
